The International save their own pensions by agreeing to have them frozen. Let me explain:
Every TWU represented worker out there, came under the PBGC cap, but not the International. They stood to lose their union-based pension rate down to the 59K cap. So by freezing it they have guaranteed that they get their pension based on the $180,000.00 that they make. We would have got our pension based on what we make which was under the PBGC cap. We gain nothing!
So before everyone goes out there hooting and hollering, we don't get anything that we weren't going to get anyway. The International was doing this to benefit themselves, and only themselves. Also what items of ours are they going bargain away in order to save THEIR pensions????? This is no victory!
We hear the company didn't want to tangle with Mr Gottbaum, they weren't afraid of our weak union. (NY Times described the TWU as a traditionally weak union).
The 59K is your pension amount, not how much you make.
Greg Sewell was hit up on facebook, he was asked if the rumor was true that Cirri and Hewitt was trading $$$ for jobs in these 'secret' meetings with the TWU International. He responded by saying: "This local is committed to saving jobs in Tulsa, and if you, or the line want to call it $$$ for jobs that's their problem"

1. Then click on the Dept. of Labor website and pick TWU-Transport Workers Union AFL-CIO from the drop down menu, it's about an 1/8th of the way down. (181 from the top) OR enter file number '000-218' in the search box.
2. Then click 'submit' at the bottom of the page. This will bring you to a new page then go all the way to the bottom below the locals.
3. Click on 000- 218 'TRANSPORT WORKERS AFL-CIO INTERNATIONAL HEADQUARTERS', that will bring you to another page then click on 2011 LM-2 report and bingo, see the money thrown around like confetti.

We will particularly be focusing on the International leadership, their qualifications (or lack thereof), and the bungling buffoons in the Airline division. It seems that the TWU leadership has forgotten who is paying their salary, so we intend on reminding them. Like a dog getting it's nose rubbed in it's poop.
We are not anti-union, we are pro-union, it's just
that the TWU is broken and needs fixing, badly, or we need to get a new
Union. The TWU is unresponsive, unaccountable and constantly puts
the welfare of their treasury and feathering their own nests, first
and foremost.
The only AFL/CIO Union to NOT endorse universal health care
